Lake Activities

Fish, boat, hike, or simply relax

Angel Fire Resort’s Monte Verde Lake is a picturesque, spring-fed, high-mountain lake located in the heart of Angel Fire. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a variety of activities, including fishing, boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, and canoeing, or simply relaxing on the shore. Hiking trails surround the lake, offering even more ways to explore the stunning scenery.

Paddle Boarding

Stand-Up Paddleboarding at Monte Verde Lake offers a fun and active way to explore the serene waters. The minimum age for paddle boarding is 12 years old, and all participants must have strong swimming abilities. For safety, everyone on a paddleboard must wear a life vest, leash, and whistle at all times while on the water. Please remember that paddleboards should only be stood on when in the water, as standing on them on land can damage the fin.

While swimming is not allowed in the lake, if you fall off your paddleboard, you must immediately return to your board. For safety and convenience, all paddleboarders must enter and exit the water from the designated area next to the Monte Verde Lake Office.
