National Trails Day Hike

In observance of National Trails Day this June, Friends of Eagle Nest Lake and Cimarron Canyon State Parks invites you to join a scenic hike up the beautiful Clear Creek Trail. This moderate to moderately difficult trail offers stunning views and three waterfalls, making it a perfect way to celebrate the outdoors.
When: Saturday, June 7, 2025
- Time: 9:00 AM (Meet at Clear Creek Trailhead)
- Hike begins: 9:15 AM
Where: Clear Creek Trailhead, Hwy 64 Mile Marker 292, Cimarron Canyon, NM
- Directions: From Eagle Nest, head east on Hwy 64 to mile marker 292 in Cimarron Canyon and park near the trailhead.
Trail Info:
- Distance: Approx. 4 miles round trip (participants can turn back before the third waterfall if preferred).
- Elevation Gain: 800 feet
- A short section of the trail is steep and narrow, with log bridges to cross.

- To register, email FriendsENCCParks@gmail.com by May 30 with your name, contact info, and the number of people in your group. There’s no charge for the hike—just let us know how many will be joining.
