New Chairlifts, Pickleball Courts, and More Coming Soon
As summer unfolds in the Moreno Valley, Angel Fire Resort is hard at work on some exciting upgrades designed to enhance year-round adventure for guests and members. From high-speed chairlifts to fresh pickleball courts, this mountain is getting a serious lift—literally.
Two New Chairlifts Are on the Way
Skiers and riders can look forward to smoother, faster access to their favorite terrain with two brand-new chairlifts currently under construction.
2025-26: Backside 4-Person Chair
The Rakes Rider, a fixed-grip quad chairlift, will debut on the backside of the mountain, giving skiers and riders direct access to some of the most challenging and beloved terrain at the resort—think black diamonds and serious vertical.
2026-27: Frontside 6-Person Chair
The Angel Express, a high-speed six-pack detachable chairlift, is under development for the front side of the mountain. This lift will be the only six-pack in New Mexico, helping newer skiers access shorter runs while easing traffic and doubling overall lift capacity across the resort.
Once both lifts are complete, Angel Fire’s lift capacity will double, offering more access, less waiting, and an overall improved winter experience.

Major Momentum for Summer Fun, Too
Beyond the slopes, Angel Fire Resort is investing in warm-weather recreation with several new projects coming soon:
- Eight new pickleball courts are currently being built near Olympic Park, with grading work underway this summer and completion expected by late fall 2025.
- A Tennis & Pickleball Pro Shop will follow, offering a convenient hub for gear, instruction, and community.
- Families will also enjoy an expanded disc golf course, designed to add more outdoor fun to summer stays.
