The Magic Starts with Opening Day On Dec 12!

Holiday Events to Add to Your Calendar
Ski with Santa | Christmas Day
Start your Christmas morning with a dash of magic — strap on your skis or snowboard and catch Santa (maybe even Mrs. Claus, elfs, or the Grinch!) carving up the slopes. A perfect family tradition for little ones and big kids alike.
Night Skiing under the Stars | December 25 – 30, 2025
Love evening adventures? Angel Fire offers the ONLY night skiing in New Mexico, lighting up select lower-mountain runs under the stars. Trails are open roughly from 4:00–8:00 PM during holiday periods. Great for those who want to ski after dinner or catch a “moonlit” run with fewer crowds.
Hot Chocolate & S’mores Nights | December 25 – 30, 2025
Don’t ski? No problem — warm up with a mug of hot chocolate (or a family-friendly cocoa) and enjoy s’mores by the firepit at the base area. It’s a cozy, low-key way to soak in the mountain vibes after dark. Event runs through the holiday stretch.
Torchlight Parades & Fireworks | Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve
Two of the most magical nights on the mountain:
- On Christmas Eve, watch skiers light up the slopes in the torchlight parade at dusk, followed by fireworks — a holiday spectacle that’ll light up the valley.
- Ring in the New Year with the New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade & Fireworks, a dazzling, family-friendly way to welcome 2026.
Snow Fun & Family Play in the Cold | All Winter Long!
Even if you’re not skiing or snowboarding — there’s no shortage of fun:
- Tubing Hill: Thrilling and laughter-filled slides down a four-lane tubing hill, great for kids and families.
- Kids’ Sledding Hill: For little ones (and big kids too), with gentle slopes and easy access
- Snowshoeing & Nordic Trails: Explore peaceful, snow-covered woodlands — a quieter way to enjoy the snow and maybe spot some winter wildlife.
Pro Tips for Making the Most of Your Winter Stay
- Book Early — Holiday weekends fill fast. If you’re planning to ski, dine, or attend an event, go ahead and reserve your spots now.
- Dress in Layers — Mountain weather shifts fast. Daytime skiing can be brisk, evenings around fire pits are chilly — layering keeps you comfy.
- Check Conditions — For night skiing and events, schedule depends on weather. Always check resort updates before heading out.
- Plan for Non-Skiers — Tubing, sledding, snowshoeing, cocoa nights, and fireworks make Angel Fire a winter playground — even for those who don’t ski.
- Dining + Reservations — Holiday meals and après-ski dinners (especially at resort-based restaurants like Elements at Angel Fire Country Club) book up — reserve early to grab cozy tables with mountain views.
Capture the Magic — Your Winter Memories Await
Angel Fire during the holidays isn’t just snow and slopes — it’s twinkling torchlight parades, cozy nights by the fire, laughter on the tubing hill, and magical runs under starry skies. Whether you come for the first tracks, the fireworks, or just to sip cocoa with snow at your feet, this mountain town knows how to do winter right.
