Tolby Campground is a scenic, forested camping area located within Cimarron Canyon State Park, along the Cimarron River just a short drive east of Eagle Nest, New Mexico. Part of a larger state park that stretches through a beautiful river canyon, Tolby offers a peaceful mountain setting with trout fishing, riverside views and easy access to trails like the Tolby Meadow Loop. The campground features campsites suitable for both tents and RVs, picnic tables and fire rings, and modern restrooms with flush toilets and sinks for camper convenience.
Sites at Tolby Campground are often shaded by mature trees and many sit right near the water’s edge — making it a favorite for anglers and nature lovers looking to unwind by the river. While there are no electrical, water or sewer hookups, generators are allowed during daytime hours and the peaceful canyon backdrop encourages a true outdoors experience. Reservations are available seasonally, and much of the park’s camping operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so arriving early in peak months helps ensure a spot.
