When the snow falls, Angel Fire transforms into a cozy mountain escape filled with adventure, family fun, and breathtaking views. Whether you’re carving fresh powder, tubing with the kids, or sipping cocoa by the fire, winter here is pure magic.
Hit the Slopes
Angel Fire Resort is the heart of winter fun, offering 81 trails, terrain parks, and New Mexico’s only night skiing every Friday–Sunday and on holidays. Known for being family-friendly, the resort also features Hot Cocoa & S’mores Fridays and Saturdays, plus live music every Friday evening. With new lifts and shorter lines, it’s easier than ever to make the most of your day on the mountain.
Snow Play for Everyone
Not a skier? No problem. Grab a sled at the Angel Fire Nordic Center, home to one of the best sledding hills in New Mexico. Rentals are available right on-site, and it’s a fun, affordable outing for the whole family. For even faster thrills, check out the Resort Tubing Hill, where kids (and kids-at-heart) can ride again and again. Afterward, head into the village to warm up with a cup of cocoa or a meal at one of Angel Fire’s cozy restaurants.
Explore the Trails
For a quieter way to experience winter, head to the Nordic Center, which offers over 12 km of groomed trails for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing—rentals included. You can also explore the town’s scenic greenbelt trails at your own pace and soak in the beauty of a snow-dusted forest.
Cozy Eats & Après Spots
After a day outdoors, refuel with a crafted cocktail at Elevated Pour, a hearty burger at Legends Grill, or a sit-down meal at Mi Cocina, a local favorite serving classic New Mexican comfort food. If you’d rather kick back in your cabin, grab takeout from Smoke Rings BBQ or Pizza Stop and enjoy a cozy night in.
Shop, Stay & Play
Angel Fire makes it easy to stay close to the action. The Angel Fire Resort Lodge puts you steps from the lifts, while nearby condos and vacation rentals offer hot tubs, mountain views, and bunk rooms made for family fun. Around town, explore unique shops like Indigo Market, Lindsey Living, and Pine & Peak for gifts and mountain décor before stocking up on essentials at Lowe’s Market or Rocky Mountain Market.
More to Explore
When you’re ready for a day trip, set out on the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway to explore nearby mountain towns. Stroll the historic plaza in Taos, hit the slopes in Red River, try ice fishing in Eagle Nest, or step back in time in Cimarron, just a short drive away. Each town offers its own winter charm—but Angel Fire is where you’ll want to come home.
