SUMMARY:Children's Fishing Derby
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun-filled day at the Children’s Fishing Derby at Gravel Pit Lakes in Maverick Campground at Cimarron Canyon State Park. \nThis free event is open to all children ages 3 to 11\, and it’s the perfect opportunity for young anglers to enjoy a day of fishing and friendly competition!  We encourage all entrants to have fun and give their best effort—casting assistance is available\, but each child must reel in their own fish using only one pole. \n  \nWhen:  Saturday\, May 10th from 10AM – 1PM. \nWhere: Gravel Pit Lakes at the Maverick Campground.  Cimarron Canyon State Park \nDetails: \n\nChildren must be between 3-11 years old to participate.\nOnly trout caught from the Gravel Pit Lakes will be eligible for judging.\nFirst 100 entrants will receive a free t-shirt.\nEntrants can receive help with casting but must reel in their own fish\, using only one pole.\nPrizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners in two age categories: 3-7 years and 8-11 years.\nAll children must be supervised by an adult during the event.\nYou must be present to register and claim prizes.\nA New Mexico State Park pass or day use fee is required\, and New Mexico Fishing Regulations will apply.\n\n  \nBring this Entry Form with you to sign up for the event. \nInformational Flyer and Rules \nThis event is proudly sponsored by the Friends of Eagle Nest Lake and Cimarron Canyon State Parks\, along with the New Mexico Department of Game & Fish\, who will provide fish for the ponds\, New Mexico State Parks\, Philmont Scout Ranch and Knights of Columbus. \nFor more information\, please call 575-377-1594 or 575-377-6271.
