Nights and early mornings may get down into the 40s. \nHow To Dress For The Weather\nThe best way to dress in the mountains is in layers. Start with a light sweatshirt or sweater over a t-shirt or tank top. Sunglasses\, a hat and a raincoat or umbrella will have you prepared for varying weather. All events are outdoors and apparel is casual. \nWhat To Bring To Tailgate At The Angel Fire Airport\nThe ascension events at the Angel Fire Airport are a bring-your-own-seating and food\, type of festivity. Lawn chairs\, blankets\, strollers and wagons are all acceptable. You are encouraged to tailgate so heat up that electric grill* or open up that cooler and get fueled up for summer mountain fun. \n*please note\, open flames are not allowed at the event\, so please plan accordingly.  Pre-cooked foods that can be easily reheated or assembled on-site are perfect.  Additionally\, we recommend bringing along a variety of cold salads\, sandwiches\, wraps\, chips\, dips and finger foods that don’t require cooking. \nPrices & Promotions\nBalloon sightings\, live music\, the street fair and the farmers market are all FREE to attend. There will be food and beverages available for purchase\, along with local art and produce. \nBalloon Parking\n \n

SUMMARY:Flag Retirement Ceremony 2024
DESCRIPTION:A flag retirement ceremony is a solemn and dignified event held to respectfully dispose of old\, worn\, or damaged American flags. It’s a way to honor the symbolism and significance of the flag by properly retiring it from service. \nDuring the ceremony\, the flag is typically cut into smaller pieces\, usually by ceremonial scissors or a knife\, with each stripe and star being separated. These pieces are then carefully placed into a fire\, often accompanied by a moment of silence or a recitation of patriotic verses. The fire burns until the flag is completely consumed\, and the ashes are then collected and buried in a respectful manner. \nFlag retirement ceremonies are often conducted by veterans’ organizations\, scout groups\, or other community organizations as a way to pay tribute to the flag’s symbolism and demonstrate reverence for its proper disposal. \n  \nWhen: 9 AM \nWhere: Vietnam Veterans Memorial \n  \nPhoto Credit: David Westphall Veterans Foundation

SUMMARY:Cool Summer Nights | DK and the Affordables
DESCRIPTION:Grab your lawn chairs\, blankets\, friends\, and dancing shoes because the Cool Summer Nights Concert Series is returning for 2024!\nJoin us for free live music every Friday evening from 5 PM to 7 PM at Angel Fire’s Frontier Park\, running from June 14 to September 13 this summer. \nThis seasons concert series kicks off with DK and the Affordables! \n  \n5 – 7 PM | DK and the Affordables: Rockability\n \n“The band is led by DK’s twangy guitar and a ripping rhythm section. The guys have greasy hair\, pointy boots and live to make you dance and share a good time. Their music is mostly classic rockabilly covers by such acts as the Paladins\, Nick Curran\, Ronnie Dawson\, Southern Culture On The Skids\, the Stray Cats and other great rockers. DK has also written some outrageous songs for the group. It’s a take on songs that sound like they’re rooted in the 1950’s with a sort of punk attitude.” \n— LA Daily Post \n  \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/affordabilly/ \nPhoto Credit: DK and the Affordables\n  \nCool Summer Nights Concert Series is brought to you by the Village of Angel Fire & Angel Fire Resort

SUMMARY:Stargazing & S'mores
DESCRIPTION:Are you a fan of s’mores and intrigued by the wonders of the night sky?\nJoin us near the Boat House at Monte Verde Lake on select weekend nights when the moon is faint and the celestial wonders are at their brightest. Accompanied by amateur astronomer and astrophotographer Mike Hawkins\, we invite you to peer through a telescope\, marvel at the moon\, stars\, galaxies\, and nebulae\, and engage in guided discussions. \nAs you gather around fire pits\, complimentary s’mores will be provided for your enjoyment. Remember to dress warmly for the outdoor setting and consider bringing chairs\, blankets\, and binoculars if you have them. \nPlease refrain from using white-light flashlights or phone screens as they can disrupt your and others’ vision adjustment and detract from the experience of observing the night sky. \n  \nWhen: Select Friday nights through the summer\, from 8-10 PM \nWhere: Monte Verde Lake\, Mountain View Blvd \nWhat: Explore the night sky through a telescope while enjoying S’Mores over the fire! \n  \n**While we will make every attempt to keep the scheduled date and time for stargazing\, we will need clear skies for optimal viewing. In the event of unfavorable weather conditions\, such as cloud cover\, we will promptly update the event status to “canceled” HERE and on Angel Fire Resort’s social media channels. \n  \nwww.angelfireresort.com/event/stargazing-smores \nPhoto Credit: Angel Fire Resort
